Babies Having Babies

No this isn't a rant on teenage pregnancy or sex education in our school systems, although for the first time in over 20 years teen pregnancy is on the rise, I don't feel so good about that.

What this post is really about is puppies! Rem's babies were born about a month ago and I went over last night to take pictures of them. They are adorable! My parents are taking a male so I had to send pictures of their new baby!

If we weren't having a baby this fall I would absolutely be taking one of the puppies home. I think it's probably best if I stay away from golden retriever puppies.

The Shaping of a Nursery

We had a fabulous weekend in Walla Walla. We ate, tasted wine (mostly Aaron but I'll be honest, I had a few sips), got dressed up and danced the night away at our friend's wedding. I'm sad we didn't take any pictures because by the time I have an opportunity to dress up again, the cute pregnant stage will be long gone.

Anyway, as we were driving back we stopped in the Tri-Cities at a really cute shop called Ella Bella. I spotted the most gorgeous crib and dresser and the best part was...they were on sale! I love a good sale, and I wasn't about to pass this one up. Thankfully, right as Aaron was about to pitch a fit (about spending money) our friends who were driving back from the wedding as well, showed up and talked a little sense into my husband. I love peer pressure!
Here is the crib!

It's a Baby?

We had the official ultrasound today, and we were in for a pretty big shock! Its a BOY!! The ultrasound tech asked us how attached we were to having a girl, and both of us just kind of stared blankly at her. Finally she said, because its not a girl, its definitely a boy.

And let me tell you, he wasn't shy about showing us his goods. Aaron thinks he hasn't appreciated being called a girl for the last three weeks so he to make sure we had multiple chances to see who he truly is.

Speaking of Aaron, he definitely got a little choked up hearing he was having a boy. I was laughing like an awkward weirdo and Aaron was trying to hold back the tears; we were quite the pair. As much as both of us were open and excited to have either, we are both so happy to be having a boy. As I overhear Aaron talking on the phone with friends or family, he refers to the baby has 'his son.' There is nothing sweeter to my ears.

At the same time, I think I'm still in a little bit of shock. I really thought it was a girl and after our quick ultrasound at the last appointment, I was ready to start shopping for striped tights and hair ribbons.

I am truly ecstatic to be having a son. I just keep rolling that idea around in my brain, I'm going to be the mother of a son. I have a son!
